Happy 4th of July from California's capitol. I've been really bad about updating our blog lately. Drew's doing better, but he was back in the hospital at the beginning of June because a small blood vessel in his leg burst. Since he's been on Coumadin (the blood thinner for the two small blood clots in his lungs) that was a problem for bleeding into the muscle. It caused his leg to swell up. He was back in the hospital for five days until they got his blood thickened enough to stop the bleeding. So all of you who donate blood and plasma, thank you! He's still not up and around much yet because his leg swelling isn't totally gone yet. It makes his leg too stiff to transfer into and out of his chair and into the car, etc... We do have Home Care (finally after so many years of me being the sole nurse) coming to the house now because he hasn't been able
to transfer into and out of his chair and into the car to go to the
clinic to have his blood levels tested. They've also been changing most
of his wound dressing for the sores on his legs, which are almost healed
now, and the one on his heel. Hopefully, his leg swelling will be gone or nearly gone in a few weeks when we hope to go to Lake Tahoe for our anniversary.
My mom visited us this past week. We spent some time at Land Park and tried a Thai restaurant and an Ethiopian one.
