Wow, it was HOT in Fremont today! Good thing the Pancreatic Cancer Research Walk was early in the morning. It was still warm though and after walking I was super hungry. We did 4 miles. They had a BBQ and I was not shy... hamburger, hot dog (they didn't have relish :() chips, brownies. As soon as I got home I crashed and I'm still very worn out. The heat just takes it out of you. But it was a nice lake area. Some parts were a little bare of shade. There were all kinds of ducks, geese and I think they were cranes or egrets. A lot of people brought their dogs, I saw a bloodhound, huskies, bisson-frisses, golden retrievers, cavalier spaniels. I tried to get Drew to come for the dogs but he had a really late show last night so he was too tired. He might have found the HUGE group of people doing Tai Chi in the park interesting. At first I thought they were our group from a distance but when I got close I realized they were not.
We were not a big group maybe 50-60 or so. A few teams/large groups. The Lustgarten Foundation is based in NY so the events in CA are smaller and this was the first Nor Cal one. Still I thought there would be more people. Hopefully next time there will be. I hope next time I can get someone to join me so I am not only kept company by my iPod (that died half way through). I did meet some nice people though and the scenery was pretty. Anyway here are my photos... I couldn't find my camera this morning so they are from my phone. Oh and we raised $20,000!! I personally raised $100. Woo-hoo! Thank you to everyone who contributed. If you still want to donate the website will be open for another 6 weeks. Here is the link:My Fremont Walk Page
