Angie and Ryan's Wedding

The goodie table complete with celery-decorated cake. When they met working at a grocery store, Ryan threw a stalk of celery at another coworker that accidentally hit Angie. It was meant to be!

Their wedding was at Willow Gardens in Fresno. Yes, this is in Fresno! And the weather was only in the 80's :) It was smart to have it start at 6:00 PM, too.

Gazebo where the marriage ceremony took place. That pink napkin sticking up is on our table. All the tables were arranged around the gazebo. It was like theatre-in-the-round!

Very creative and pretty place settings/table numbers set up with snapshots of Angie and Ryan throughout their lives.

Mary's New Bedroom

So one final post to catch up. Drew's mom took a trip to her family's homeland of Ireland for a couple of weeks. She just got back last night. While she was gone, her friend who stages model homes for a living decided to surprise her with a room redecoration. Drew's brother, sister, cousin and I helped her do it. Here are the results! Sorry we didn't take any "before" photos. We forgot to take them. We painted the old, white walls, removed beat-up, old furniture, took down the old window coverings; she made a new bed covering and throw pillows, head board and the wall hangings are new, too. One of them her son's girlfriend painted. The chair and ottoman are new with new pillows. The dresser, mirror and vanity with bench are antiques from her family. Anyway, she was very surprised and excited!

8th Grade Graduation

Many of you will remember that before I got my secondary credential in social studies, I was an aide in a third grade classroom at a Catholic School. Well, those third graders just graduated from eighth grade! Drew and I went to their graduation on Friday. I was so proud to see how they had grown up and that many became so well spoken. There were a few unfamiliar faces but most of the students I knew. Several received scholarships to Bay Area Catholic high schools and a few gave speeches. They were surprised to see me in a good way. It was also nice to see former fellow staff there and catch up with them. Here are some photos of the grads!

Grandpa's 90th Birthday

So I'm sorry I've gotten behind posting here. I've been busy doing job applications and interviews. We moved back to the Bay Area in early April. Even though I've gotten very close in one case, still no job yet. Since Drew finally healed up from the pressure sore and, for the most part, the sores on his leg, he has been able to be up and around and to perform a bit again, too. But I wanted to mention that my grandpa turned 90 in March! On March 19 actually. We had a party for him on March 17, St. Patrick's Day! My mom and I organized it and had help from my brothers. I made the invitations. We got Mennonite food from a local place. So here are some photos. We had it at the home he lives at in Reedley. A lot of people came out to celebrate with us. Many relatives, friends and people from the home. My grandpa is a jokester still and was in fine form! He pulled the leather chair over the table so he could have a throne to match his crown!
