Well, it took almost a week to get online but we finally are last night. Our house phone and TV won't be active until tomorrow. And when we moved in there was no fridge! We've never experienced that in the like 10 apts we've lived in throughout CA (Bay Area, Central, Santa Barbara, San Diego) but apparently it's not uncommon here in L.A.L.A.Land. So we had to buy a fridge (renting was more expensive) and it wasn't delivered until Tuesday because of July 4th wknd. So we were living out of a cooler and going to get ice all the time... did we mention it's hot?! Yeah, just a little. It's was in the 100's over the wknd and has cooled down to the 90's. And the first night we got here the medical company that was supposed to deliver Drew's life support medical bed btwn 6-7 pm (we set this up weeks ago) didn't show up until 2 AM! So Drew couldn't go to bed until 4 AM when they were done setting it up. They claimed we told them to come back the next day when in fact the guy offered to come back btwn 6-7 after our movers had finished. So Drew was on the phone for hours straightening things out and getting them to understand he had nowhere to sleep until they showed up. And that after sitting in the car for 6 hours he couldn't sit all night without getting another sore (the very reason for the bed!) We had trouble with the company in the Bay Area, too, but man, were we pissed. And exhausted. We're still unpacking. The photos show the courtyard outside our front door, the flowers by the pool down the walkway and our kitchen. We don't have the rest of the house unpacked or set up yet. We do have 2 bathrooms and 2 walk-in closets. Drew's room is large while Hannah's is small. Her interview for a charter school is on Tuesday... it seems to be coming up quickly. She did find out that the school is close to the high speed bus that picks up right outside our apt here. That would be great! We'll keep you posted as things develop.
