Our journey from engagement to the beyond!

While Drew's mom was here visiting last week we tried to get someone to see Drew's sore. We thought we made some headway but so far it hasn't produced any concrete results. To get on Medicaire or MediCal would be 6 months and we haven't found an internist or plastic surgeon to see him without insurance. We may be able to get emergency MediCal but we'd have to prove it is an emergency. It is, of course but getting them to believe it is... It is looking all right but the coverage over the hole is clearly very thin because any time he gets up, the hole opens again. So he has spent all these weeks since Christmas in bed. While Drew's mom was here she and I had planned to go to the J. Paul Getty Museum in L.A. but Mary got sick. Since we had planned to go with her friend's daughter who lives in the area, the daughter (Kristen) and I went to the Getty. It's not far from us. It was a very large complex so we couldn't possibly see all of it. We saw a little of the gardens and the amazing view of the city, mountains and valley. You take a tram/monorail up from the parking garage to the museum, which has a great view, too. The art exhibit we chose to go to was the Medieval and Renaissance works. There were some pieces by Titian, Rembrandt, Rubens, Bruegal, and Van Dyck. The exhibit also had an illuminated manuscript section, Medieval glassware, china, curio cabinets and painted altar panels. They had some beautiful stuff. I finally turned in all my paperwork for subbing. Hopefully, they'll start calling me to work soon.
