Hannah and Drew

Our journey from engagement to the beyond!

Here are our honeymoon photos from Tahoe. It was a short vacation but we had a lot of fun! Drew's parent's were with us the first day and took us on the Tahoe Queen Mississippi style river boat. That's where all these photos are from. Can you see the parasailor in the upper right of the photo? The one with what looks like minnows in the sky next to it? The windows were a little dirty. We took a few from the deck to alleviate that. Beautiful views! It was hard for him to get out on the deck because the door was heavy and the ramp out too steep. Drew wasn't totally happy with the access on the boat (he also couldn't use the bathroom or go to the gift shop).

But for the most part, it was a very nice 2 hrs. It took us to Emerald Bay where the water is shallower so it looks more green. And by Vikingsholm, a Scandinavian inspired mansion. Photos: virtualtahoe.com (you can see the Tahoe Queen approaching the mansion) and toddborg.com. Then we had 2 days to ourselves. In a very large suite his parents own part of. Like a timeshare thing. Some of his parents'friends even had a gift basket sent to our room! We've stayed in the suite twice before, once in the summer, once in the winter. It has a full kitchen and balcony. But it had been 2.5 yrs. It was nice to go anywhere after the last year and 9 mos!

We ate at the Riva Grill at sunset next to the Embassy Suites resort we stayed at. Very good food. Have the conighila and a Wet Woody if you ever go. Then Drew popped open an expensive Spanish champagne he received as a college graduation gift from one of the doctors that treated him when he originally got sick. He was saving it for a special occassion. We had planned to take the ski run gondola to the top of Heavenly yesterday evening when the sun would set but the gondola stopped running at 5. That kind of sucks. The guy running it agreed it would be nice at sunset. Oh well.

This morning we went to a place called Heidi's, a breakfast chalet style restaurant, for crepes. Well, I had crepes. He had some biscuits and gravy thing. They put the whipped cream on mine in the shape of an "H" so I had to take a photo. On the other camera. It was a little warm (low '90's) but it was mostly very comfortable compared to Fresno (where we were at the beg of the week) and in the Bay Area last week. It was in the 100's here! It was also very nice to come home to fresh Bay Area, normal seasonal weather today. The heat wave is over!!

We have more Tahoe photos to put in after we have them put on CD. But we had a great time. We're thinking of going wine tasting in the Monterey area for my birthday in Sept as sort of a honeymoon extension. I've been wanting to go to Big Sur forever as I've never gone. We relaxed a lot in Tahoe... ah, all the planning is over! I still forget that it is sometimes and think I have something to do. Ha-ha! I had a wedding nightmare that we had to do a take 2!
